I'm always looking around for something different after getting bored with HOGs and this is a very nice game. It is obviously targeted to younger girls (the only player option is a young woman, some of the challenges are a bit black-and-white and whoever has collected things hovering in the middle of the road?), but it is nevertheless a very nice, and challenging game. I am a bit undecided whether the mouse only control is a good idea - yes, it is very easy (you just have to hold the mouse button down), but after a few levels you start getting cramps. That said, it is my only issue with this game, everything else is very good. There are 34 challenges to complete - some include collecting items throughout the game and there are also two (one on each continent) where you have to find sights. Other challenges are show-jumping, cross-country competitions and collecting things. (Beware - to get gold on every level you do have to buy more horses, with special skills.) And you have to clean your horse after every three levels or so. Slightly annoying, nicer and faster later in the game when you can do washing, but I guess it is like real life. I'm not complaining about the choice of breeds or colours - then again I am not horse mad - but I think it was great to have zebra and unicorn as an option! :) And don't forget to name your horses! I ended up with three Leopolds! :D Another optional bit in the game (again targeted to girls) is that you can buy clothes for "yourself" and accessories for your horse. I skipped that and saved my money. Graphics are nice, colours are beautiful, even on a low-ish level. I also liked the music, nice and airy and didn't become annoying. Definitely worth the money. tuskel, sincerely
Yes, as others have said, this game is definitely aimed towards young girls and, due to that, I nearly didn't try it out, even tho it was on sale.... I'm very glad I did.... This is so different from anything I've ever played before and I loved it.... Regarding the problem with the mouse? I had none -- just click where you want the horse to go - you needn't hold the mouse down and get cramps.... I recommend this game for all horse lovers... Although I would much rather be out riding for real, this is as close as I can get now since I'm no longer able to ride and train - so this game satisfies me at a very deep level.... The scenery is splendid - I just wish there were more trails to ride.... And some that are strictly pleasure - no competition involved (although you can accomplish that somewhat by just ignoring the objective...). Hopefully, they'll come out with another one... and it would be wonderful if they catered it more to us adult horse lovers as well as the young girls (hint, hint)... How about some barrel riding? ;)
I love the game !! I hate the fact that the mouse is the controller. My hand gets crampy after a little while which takes the enjyoment away for me.But the game itself is an awesome alternative to going to a stable.
I found this game to be fun and a challenge. I love the graphics and the way it is set up. I show my horse and this is a great way to challenge yourself and learn at the same time. It is kind of hard at first but as you level up and stay calm and work your way through it, it seems to get easy and you get the feel of the game. I would recommend this game to all ages.
I love the game, I think is one of the greatest game I've played.
awesome game i love it all girls will love it maybe some boys as well
My favorite animal is a zebra. When I found out that it had a zebra, I was so happy! This game could have more breeds and coat colors, but that doesn't prevent it from being fun! You can enter competitions, do jumping, go for trail rides, and so much more! This game is SO cool! I totally reccomend it!
This game is awesome. It's realistic, it's fun. The scenery is awe-inspiring. The making of the game is amazing. It would be more fun if you could breed.. I hoped for Appaloosas. I would have liked to be able to costumize the facial features of your rider, but still, it's awesome. Overall, I'd give it 5 Stars, for sure! You'll definatly find it more enjoyable if you're a horse lover, duh. xD
its soo fun! i like the horse breeds!
i was looking for "something different" by typing in random search words and looking at what popped up. well, ok, my search terms were probably less-than-random since i am a horse-lover and a former horse owner who really misses being around horses! that said, i was skeptical about this game when i first saw it but decided to give it a try anyway. i am glad i did! i was surprised to find this is a fun game that requires skill and coordination with your mouse. it also has a realistic storyline and it's fun to collect trophies and medals as you progress through the levels. i do wish that the appearance of the horse and rider could be customized so the game feels more personal. but overall, this is a fun and absorbing video game that will appeal to horse-lovers of all ages, and to those people who are working on improving their hand-eye coordination and quick-click response timing.
