Hidden Objects lovers should be happy playing this typical HOG which doesn't offer any activities and has only a few conventional puzzles. The emphasis is on the HO Scenes which account for 90 % of the game. The total linearity prevents any kind of exploration and the only difficulty is to find the tiny hidden objects scattered throughout overcrowded HO Scenes that follow one another without interruption. The cursor goes whirling around every 3 misclicks, and hints take a bit of time to re-up. The graphics are nice and bright and the main musical theme rather pleasant save that is turns in loops, and that is irritating. A game suitable for rainy days that will bring sunshine into your home since the [lack of] action takes place on a tropical island one day the sun was out. Recommended only in case of bad weather. Note: Review based on the demo
Absolutely brilliant graphics, music a bit much at times but manageable. Love the surprise puzzles, interesting story, IHOG's in every scene at time a bit difficult to find, however the Hint button recharges rather quickly. It is a must for any straight HOG collector and you can?t beat the price.
Summary: You are on a boat expedition, trying to track a signal from some mysterious source. Supposedly, it would lead to Atlantis. You wake up suddenly and find all the crew has disappeared and you search the island for them, checking that you are on the right track by following coins planted by the captain. If you like going from HOG to HOG without having to go through hoops to get to the next one, this is for you. It has: - Little to do other than HOGs and puzzles - Light story, but what there is makes sense and is easy to follow - Lots of HOGs, lists of objects, some objects are small; making them crisper would have helped minimize that flaw - No moving to new locations - you?re automatically taken to next HOG - Easy puzzles (although difficulty increases marginally later in the game) - HOGs heavily outweigh puzzles in frequency - Picturesque artwork - Written dialogue - Hints work well in the HOS and recharge fairly quickly - Music ? had to turn it off Reason for only 3 stars is that there are too many HOS for me.
For the most part, I am now bored with most HO games that have no adventure included...however...I enjoyed playing this game. Normally I just play a game and do not read the story, but in this game, it was the storyline along with playing that kept me interested. Fortunately, I did not need the hint button very much, however, when I did need it, I found it to be very slow refilling. Music got on my nerves after awhile so I muted it, however I find I mute most games anyway. This game isf great for a lazy afternoon when all you want is peace and quiet. At the end of the story it said to watch for the next game which was to continue where this one left off, but I have not seen a sequel which is a shame. I would have enjoyed the next chapter had they released one. Oh well, on to bigger and better things.
Nothing barn burning here, just a good ol' HOG. Nothing but...so if you like some variety this probably isn't the game for you. Storyline was fairly good, screens were clear, challenging and kept my interest for an hour. Would I buy the game? Possibly if I was wanting just an HOG and nothing else.
I keep track of my reviews on my game list and just saw that i wrote "nice junk-pile Hidden Object game, items not always clear and I've put a note to say that if part 2 comes along that I would go for it. Hope this helps.
i was very disappointed wanted more i only played 10 min and got bored. but i have add so i get boed easily...but this game was soo boring could not stand to play it anymore...i am an HOG lover! so for me not to like an hog game is very rare. i gave it 3 stars because the visual is awesome ^^ but even at half price i would not buy it. but. this is only my opinion u have to judge for yourself :) so i am going to commend this game at least give it a try :)
This is definitely a game for hidden object lovers as each scene will present you with a word list; there are mini puzzles within the scenes, find the matching pairs, balance a scale, spot the difference, get the gears moving, etc; these all add interest to the gameplay & there is a skip button. The objects can be quite difficult to find as many are well hidden; there are scenes within the scenes such as a suitcase to open to find some items. In addition your camera will take pictures & these are used as inventory items. There is no choice in the mode of play, no timers & a hint that recharges in 60 seconds. The scenes are varied & well drawn although many of them are really just junk piles & can take time to make sense of the mess. You will want to play your own music but if all you want to do is find items this is a good choice to play.
Can get tired of looking for HO with out a real story behind it. Not a bad game. If you love HOG then get it.
Very enjoyable game. A very straight forward progression with no back and forth that would have frustrated me. No repetition of HOS and these scenes were challenging enough to hold my interest but not so difficult to irritate me. The story line was consistent. I didn't play with sound but the graphics were great. All in all a nice, relaxing game. Hope the sequel will be available soon.
