If you enjoy less HOG and more adventure this game is for you. I hope they come out with another real soon!
I'm the kind of gamer who likes "spooky", so I was a little unsure about whether I'd like the idea of a 'love story'-themed game. I downloaded the trial version of the game first, but was so hooked within 10 minutes I bought it without finishing the hour. I prefer games where you can move about in/between scenes, and this was perfect. There was enough to-ing and fro-ing to keep you busy without it being annoying, and there were in fact very few HOGs, which really didn't matter that much because the puzzles were so enjoyable. The puzzles were, for me personally, quite innovative #and therefore a refreshing change!# compared to a lot of other games I've played. They had just the right amount of challenge to them in places to have you scratching your head - I had to get the odd hint here and there - but by and large you could work it out with a bit of thought. The storyline was engaging and drew me in, and flowed perfectly to its conclusion. I'd recommend this game 100% - in fact, I loved it so much I immediately bought the other game in the series :-)
Loving this game! Death at Fairingpoint runs smooth and beautifully with Windows 7. I appreciate that a LoT! Hogs are fresh and different than the usual, for example the player will be looking for 20 of the same objects (IE Bugs + Leaves etc). The Mini games are frequent and for the most part, are not too easy or too hard. There's a nice lot of "puzzle construction" type games certain to deeply indulge people that love putting pieces together. The graphics are bright and up - lifting. Fairingpoint is a great game to relax with. Well worth the sales price and certainly worth the full price.
Good story line kept me interesting. The game was just nice. Good balance of Hidden objects and puzzles. Puzzles weren't challenging but it made the game and story goes in good flow without stopping. I liked this game very much. Recommended.
This has got to be one of the best HOGs that I have played in a long time. The hidden objects puzzles were few and far between, yet, there were many different kinds of puzzles to play. As a whole, all the puzzles were challenging. The story was a riveting and sad love story. The illustrations were beautiful. The blog walk-through was helpful although I noticed a couple of small errors. These did not have a major impact on the helpfulness of the walk-through. I will play this again and again. It was worth every penny paid.
There are lots of interesting puzzles to do in this game. It is more of an adventure game with a hidden object component with intriguing puzzles to solve. Thoroughly enjoyed it and found it hard to quit playing:-) There are also awards, such as for not skipping puzzles which makes its a little more fun to play.
I am fairly new to these games but have quickly discovered that I prefer to be "active" rather than solve one hidden object puzzle after another. That gets really boring. I am not a romance novel fan but at least this game had a logical story to follow and you had some specific goal. And romance is far better than immersing yourself in one dark story after another. The graphics are great. I don't listen to the music on any game because it becomes tedious but the background sounds were just enough to let you know you were interacting. All in all a pleasant game. Am downloading Tuscan as I type. I also hope the developers read these reviews. Would love to see more positive games.
I purchased it on the Daily Deal expecting an average game and was delightfully surprised by the game quality!! The story is interesting and kept me guessing who did it. The graphics and sound are good. It was challenging enough that I needed to consult the Walk Through in a few places. Based on this game I will check out the other one in the series.
I'm a huge fan of the games that are more light-hearted and are visually intriguing. This is exactly my cup of tea. Some of the tasks don't flow with the story but the hint button will work you through those. My advice is to use the trial to feel it out. Also, go through the tutorial because some puzzles give you tools to return instead of tools to use to move forward and ways to speed up the loading of the hint. This is a very good mystery with clever twists.
This is one of my absolute favorites. Been a while since I played it. It has a very nice flow to the story. A good mix of everything. Highly recommended.
