This is no single genre game. It's a combination of Adventure, Large File and Hidden Object. This is for the puzzle minded thinker. If you do get stumped there is a detailed solution manual in the desk drawer that can be accessed from the main menu. There are unique twists on charished favorite puzzles. The Palace scenes are extraordinarily opulent. The timed puzzle and hidden object scenes are for the eagle-eyed. The extra diamond hunting just adds to the fun. Being a fan of Large File (style of game play) it is appreciated that you NOT be led to every conclusion. If you're a fan you know what I mean. What some may view as a glitch is actually you missing a step or forgetting to do something important. Time to retrace your steps and think. I must admit that the end came to soon and when it was over I just wanted there to be more. So, while it plays like a Large File it's not. I would also like to mention that some of the characters were so beautifully done they deserve being seen.
I have never writen a review but I had to write one for this game. It was fantastic and the graphics were great but it was WAY TOO SHORT. The story was amazing. The different take on the puzzels such as find the difference and duplicates was a refreshing change.
Just got done playing this one, and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. The graphics were excellent, the music was tremendous being theme and place specific. That's always a plus - helps to immerse a player into the game. The storyline was good I thought, though some of the dialog was a little weak. On that note, I have to say that I've only played Tree of LIfe and really enjoyed that, but I am totally unfamiliar with this story. That was handled well in the opening scenes - you were given the background information and brought up to speed. Gameplay - very good, very smooth. It was very different than most other adventure/HO type games. There were diamonds to find in every scene and they were used to skip puzzles. I am not a fan of slider puzzles, so I skipped them. I did have some issues with the tiles for the mural. I didn't know how to get them to show the correct picture in order to move forward with the game. I went looking for help and didn't find any - just a bunch of grousers on the boards about how the game was unplayable and a "no buy" - bah! Oh well I found out: you have to double click (rather rapidly) the tile and it will flip over even if there are several connected. Once I found that out - with no help from the solution guide that was given in the game - I was good to go. Everytime I opened the game I was asked about my screen size and had the graphics confirmed - that was kind of odd. May have been able to change that in options somewhere, but never found out - just hit ok and kept it moving. Things I liked: I liked that the mini-games didn't close when I was done. Sometimes I had forgotten to get the diamonds and that gave me a chance to go back and look for them. It also gave me a chance to admire the graphics some more - they were really very good and detailed. I especially liked the "vision" and being Queen of Sheba - that whole aside was very necessary to the story (though I didn't know it at the time), and was quite good. The attention to detail for that p
I love these games they are fun playing
the game is fun to play, but I expected more. I know the other game of the series "Chronicles of Mystery: The Scorpio Ritual" and "Chronicles of Mystery: Tree Of Life" , and compared to that games this one here is very disappointing. You only have the marketplace + garden as setup to act and to speak to characters. In the middle of the game you do a strange time traveling with several actions and games there, which have nothing to do with the game itself. Also the hidden object games are boring, as you always have to look for the same things. For gamers who know "Scorpio Ritual" and/or "Tree Of Life" they should not buy this game, For all all others I recommend to play this one first and then continue with "Scorpio Ritual" and "Tree Of Life"
I loved the graphics! I think the story was a shortcut of another large file game "Chronicles of Mystery: Tree of Life" which I enjoyed a lot. In both games de characters are looking for an antique artifact. The water pipes puzzle is similar in both games. Although "Chronicles of Mystery: Secret of the Lost Kingdom" it's listed as large file I was able to complete the game in only 4 hours. I RECOMMEND BOTH GAMES!!!!
I liked the visuals, the surroundings are beautiful. I like the hidden object games, they were not too difficult, and not too easy. The game is very short though, it feels like half a story, and I finished it quickly. Too quickly. I can recomend it if you want to go on a little adventure, but not if you are looking for a game that will last long. (right-click to drop items).
Having played two other Chronicles of Mystery games I incorrectly assumed this would also be an adventure game. It's nothing more than HOG with puzzles thrown in. If you're looking for an adventure game this isn't it.
